Unfortunately, Loki steals the orb giving him the power to destroy both him and Surt. Unlike the rest of the gods Odin is a half elf, which means he is the only one that has the ability to grow, just as humans do. Once he learned of the coming war with the Aesir and Vanir he ordered Freya to summon Lenneth who is in his words: "The greatest of the three goddess that govern fate". Lenneth's task is to recruit the souls of humans who have died so they can aid his fellow warriors in the war. Odin takes the Dragon Orb from Midgard, this is the divine item of the human world. Without it Midgard will fall into chaos, in effect causing more worthy heroes to die while trying to protect their cities and towns. Thus, making Lenneth's job easier. But something happened that Odin didn't take into account. Loki, who has been mistreated by both the Aesir and Vanir, steals the Dragon Orb after it was brought Valhalla.
